- Q.How do I use the SketchUp assets?
- A.
Windows: StoneCAD® needs to be located in the default location as set by the initial
installation (C:\Program Files\Cultured Stone\StoneCAD 5). Next, copy the contents of
C:\Program Files\Cultured Stone\StoneCAD 5\BonusGoodies\SketchUp\PutInComponents into your SketchUp Components
directory. Then put the contents of the TextureLibrariesWindows into your Sketchup Library directory.
Mac:
Mac: StoneCAD® needs to be installed in the default location /Applications/StoneCAD 5.
In that directory open the folder called BonusGoodies then open PutIncomponents. Drag
and drop the folder called CS_Trim on top of the adjacent linked directory called 'Drag&DropHere'.
Next go to the BonusGoodies/SketchUp/TextureLibrariesOSX folder. You should see 21 files ending
with a .skm extension. Select all of these files then drag and drop them on the adjacent folder called
'Drag&DropHere'.
- Q.How do I access installed Hatch Patterns in AutoCAD?
- A.Hatch patterns installed using the StoneCAD® application can be accessed
by typing 'bhatch' in the command window or using the Hatch icon. From the Boundary
Hatch dialog window, change the Pattern Type to 'Custom.' For versions of AutoCAD® 2000
and newer, next click on the (black) box adjacent to the word 'Swatch.' The StoneCAD® patterns
should now appear listed in the left window. The patterns all begin with the text 'cs_' .
Clicking a pattern listed on the left will dynamically build a preview in the right window.
For AutoCAD® 14 and older you'll need to type the name of the pattern into the Boundary Hatch
dialog box.
- Q.How do I use the Tileable Texture maps?
- A.Tileable Texture maps are seamless images, which appear as a single image when
an area is filled with them (like wallpaper). These can be used to create photo-realistic images
in image editing software, such as Adobe Photoshop, or to map to objects in 3D applications, such
as AutoDESK VIZ or 3d Studio Max. To export a texture, click the Texture Map button from the
menu within StoneCAD. Select the texture and color you want from the Texture Finder tab on the
left of your screen. Click on the Floppy disk icon located in the black menu bar of the Texture
Map window. A standard Save dialog box will appear. You can then import the saved .jpg file
into most image editing applications.
